MARIA VICTORIA REGALARIO-ABADAM
Victoria "Tori" studied under great and generous violin teachers Rizalina Buenaventura, Coke Bolipata, and Sergio Esmilla, Jr.
Victoria started playing the violin at age 6 together with older siblings attending in Greenhills Music Studio. Two of her siblings, Jofrey and Angelica are both active members of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
Her parents are both musicians as well. Her mother, Josefina Arrieta-Regalario is an active piano instructor and piano accompanist in Miriam College Music Center. She is the eldest sister of world renowned pianist Rowena Arrieta. Victoria's father, Antonio Regalario was a student of Lucio San Pedro. As composer-arranger and pianist, his choral compositions are well recognized by choral conductors. He served as a faculty member in UP College of Music for ten years before transferring to Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila teaching in Liberal Arts College for more than 30 years before retirement.
A talented violinist equally adept
at solo, chamber, and orchestral music, Victoria became active in such
groups as the Pundaquit Chamber Players in Casa San Miguel
Zambales, Corpus String Quartet and Filipinas Chamber Orchestra. Victoria then served as the concertmaster for the UST Symphony Orchestra during her college days at the Consevatory of Music, and appointed concertmaster to Metro Manila Community Orchestra a year after she graduated.
As a freelance violinist, she was privileged to perform with the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra, Filharmonika, and Abs-Cbn Philharmonic Orchestra as a casual/guest player.
A three time winner in the violin division of NAMCYA (National Music Competition
for Young Artists), she eventually joined auditions in AYO (Asian Youth Orchestra), a world class youth orchestra where she became part of Filipino representatives to AYO Camp and Asia Concert Tour in 2002 and 2004. She also joined SAYOWE (SouthEast Asian Youth Orchestra and Wind Ensemble) 2008 in Thailand, Asean-Japan Festival Orchestra Festival 2007 also held in Thailand, and only Filipino representative to Russia-Asean Youth Orchestra 2013, held in Cambodia.
As a current member of the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra, she was privileged to perform in musicals held in Resorts World Manila where played solo violin parts to Sound of Music Manila(2011), King and I (2012), Cinderella (2013), Bituin Walang Ningning (2015), and Annie (2016).
In 2011, she joined the entertainment crew of Holland America Lines, an American/British luxury cruise lines based in Seattle, United States. She was the lead violinist of an all-female string quartet named the "Adagio Strings" and performed for thousands of world cruisers in Grand World Voyage 2011.
Victoria holds a Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance from the Conservatory of Music at the University of SantoTomas in 2007, and Master's Degree in Music Education from Philippine Women's University School of Music in 2014.
She is a former faculty member of CEU Conservatory of Music and PWU School of Music where she taught college students major in violin, and group lessons to elementary and highschool students as part of their enrichment program.
